WHY!!!! oh Man this brought me back!! I used to be so into the slot cat thing in the early 90s.... Back in Roxbury NJ there was a place that had like 5 or 6 tracks, i used to spend all of my spare time there... I had a couple of cool vintage cars that i bought there, a couple of parma whomps set up with old oval track bodies... I also picked up a killer offie sprint car kit.. complete with scale knockoffs! I wish there was a place here in Pittsburgh to race them... Even tho the wife made fun of me I would love to go and race again!
Somebody please keep us local guys informed. Would like to drag out the old slot cars from the 60's and meet a few of the guys on the HAMB. Matt
I would realy like to set up a race at Slots of fun in Fremount nebr. If there is enough intrest. I even have enough cars to do a Irock race for those that dont have cars or controlers. Let me know if anyone wants to
Hey fellers, we're still hoping to have the Slots-O-Doom III sometime this year. I got waylaid by my A Coupe project (plus another project I'm picking up next week). I am going to the swap meet at Kevin Tully's shop in Addison tomorrow, I will check with you all to check on possible calendar dates.
Mike, You probably won't be needing that all-new '60s Slot art we discussed for the past couple of years, will you? It just sits here, waiting for a good home.....and hey- is it pronounced "ZEENER" like in weiner,or "ZE-NOR" like in Senor? Serious question, ask DB for me will ya? Johnny Ace Senior of Doom
Johnny, you da man! By the way, it's pronounced "Potrzeebie" as in "fershlugginer" except with a silent Q.
Cool, there aer a few tracks here in OZ. A few years ago I built one and raced, heres a coup'la pics. Doc.
Mister wingnutz and I were discussing a couple possibilities -- 1) Dad's in Des Plaines 2) Bob's in Milwaukee 3) Algonquin All three have roundy-round tracks and road courses, but I don't think Algonquin has a drag strip. Opinions are appreciated!
As for when, I like mid-February because it's in the dead of winter and people have cabin fever... plus it coincides with my B-day
cool! keep us posted... but I'll likely have doubled my family size by then and won't be able to go... but let's hope they're late.
Sorry Mayotte, I've been preoccupied with work and the electroshock therapy, and the alien abductions, and what-not. So am I understanding correctly that twins are on the way?
YAY! I can't wait for Slots Of Doom #3! I like Algonquin, if its the place I think it is... I have all ways had bad luck with running my cars at dads... (SOD #2) So my vote is for #2 or #3 ... I guess I will have to dust off the slot cars and make sure they are running good.
that's what got me into this predictament! yeah... identical twin girls... and in case anyone is wondering, when they turn 18 ...no, they're not available.
