You guys always ID stuff I have never seen before, here is another one..anyone know what make or any info on maybe what this 4 speed shifter would fit? The handle is held on with a horizontal pin with a locking clip. No ID numbers on the body, there were some numbers on the shift rods that I think started with "w". Looks like a bench seat shifter.
Think I actually found it..http://www.ebay.com/itm/GM-NOS-1968...024-/191557402819?hash=item2c99b600c3&vxp=mtr Or camaro? http://www.ebay.com/itm/1967-68-Cam...ter-/161678159274?hash=item25a4c4edaa&vxp=mtr No MUNCIE stamped in the handle, so maybe an over the counter replacement?
I was just going to say that the chrome handle had a side ways "Muncie" type bend in it.. Slight hi-jack here... Where do you get these remanufactured at? I have a 2nd '67 Camaro 4-speed Muncie that need's the plastic cup, spring and "ball". Somebody removed all that stuff to try to slick shift it. Like to put it back stock.. pdq67
The thing about this shifter, is it actually bolts to the cross member, and not the transmission. Engine/trans torques over, linkage binds, and you miss a gear. First thing that got replaced in my then new 72 Nova SS. Of course a Hurst replaced it, and the Saginaw 4-speed was later replaced with a Borg Warner T-10. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
From what I have found it looks like 67-68 camaro or 68-72 nova. Not sure what to do with it now, I bought it just for the shift handle and had no idea what it was. Just so happens I have a 69 Nova that I am putting a hot 427/M20/12 bolt posi in but I still only need the handle. Does the handle come out of these units without a ton of work or am I better off selling this complete and finding another handle?
