tad bit deep on the depth..... .028-.030 pinion shim should be real close to dead on. Oddly enough, any time I have set one up from a basket case or all new stuff and don't have the depth gauge availible... I start with a .028 ..... seems to be real close on most of them, then adjust from there.
Do you say it's a little deep from the numbers or the pattern in the pictures? I wanted to be around .026 but the shims that came with my bearing kit are all huge. Not happy with motive rebuild kits
