Don't know if this pic will work, but that Michell guy we met at the swap meet sent me this pic of his Merc clock delete plate. And has anyone ever seen a 51-52 Merc pickup radio delete plate?

That's different in that it doesn't look like the one in this picture.

The one in the pic is not like a badge or sheild, it has the Mercury man facing straight on.

  6. I have a '49 Merc with the clock delete. It actually was a factory option in '49, I can send pics if you want.

Hi, new to this page but certainly not new to Mercs. A little story about 49 clock deletes and proof I know what I'm talking about. I heard of these 10 or 15 years ago and saw one then. I've spent all the rest of the time since then looking for one for my self. The story goes that ALL 49 Mercs came with clocks and one had to tell the dealer that they didn't want it and to replace it with a delete. Not many folks did this so they have become extremely rare over the years. I recently purchased one and have it installed on my car. See photo. The Mercury Man faces the back of the car and it fits exactly into the hole for the clock. It's not a scratched as it looks in the photo but it's indeed used.

Nice 50merc guy, I'm from Canada and I don't have one but I could sure use one. Here is a pic of what I have done for the interim.

DSC04405 (Small).JPG Has anyone thought about using the Mercury accessory horn ****on as a filler piece for the clock?
It would be easy to do.

I would do that in a minute, looks great. Besides if you ever find a real one you can always change it. In the meantime this would do the job. If I'd thought of this, I may not have looked so hard to find the original one.
