I have decided to keep my grandfather's 1970 IHC 1 ton alive by pitching it's rusty cab and replacing it with a 1955 s160 COE cab. The 'ol 304 4-speed ch***is is solid, and grandpa's truck will be around for a long time when I get done with it. IMG_7631.JPG IMG_7712.JPG IMG_7721.JPG IMG_7861.JPG IMG_7858.JPG

Oh, it's ugly alright. It's so ugly that it's pretty. And yes, keeping the Binder brand intact is important to me on this one. My grandpa bought it new in '70, and my Dad got it when Grandpa p***ed away. I went all the way to South Dakota to get the cab. Restoring the '70 truck would have just been a waste of time IMHO. It would have been nostalgic, but not cool or valuable. I'm a fabricator, so I like to push myself as I build more toys. I have some pretty neat ideas for the bed. Thanks for all the props. I'll keep posting as it progresses.

I've got a soft spot in my head for old Binders, especially 70's. I had a few. Nice project.-MIKE:cool:
