Does anyone know if a front passenger side fender off of a '56 Dodge Royal will fit a Cornet two door hardtop. I found it on ebay and the guy says that the Cornet was just a cheaper version of the same car as the Royal. I just bought this car and don't know shit about mopars, just that this car if beautiful.
I'm doing a '55 Royal right now, so we should keep in touch, in case you have any pieces that I need or I have any that you need. To answer your question, yes, Royal and Coronet front fenders will interchange with each other. The only difference will be in the trim holes, which are easily welded up and redrilled. Benzene440 here on the HAMB is parting out a '56 which I believe has some cherry front fenders on it yet, so you could contact him if you're looking for some. They really are pretty cars, and highly underrated. I'd like to see a picture of yours if you have/can take one.
I just bought mine from "56hardtop" here on the hamb if you do a search he had it up for sale in the classifieds about a month ago. You wouldn't happen to know where I could get an oil pan for the 270 that's in it. It was a friend of mine's car before and I had always loved the lines of the car, so as soon as I heard he was selling it I knew I had to have it.
If you haven't already, join the forum at www.ForwardLook.net and ask around there. The "Forward Look" is what the designer of the Chrysler line of cars (Virgil Exner) called his 1955-1960 models. The guys on the ForwardLook board know where all the parts and parts cars are and could probably help you out with an oil pan, they'll also be able to tell you which oil pans will interchange with your car. I remember seeing this car for sale. Did you happen to get any of the original trim parts that were shaved off the car for customizing? If so, let me know, there are a few parts I would be interested in buying, might help offset the cost of your oil pan.
Thanks I'll check that site out. I didn't get anything extra with it, I think there are a few odds and ends in the trunk I'll take a look tomarrow and let you know.
