Hey everyone. I just picked up this new lady from Alabama on Saturday. She's been calling out to me for about a month now, and I finally got everything worked out to be able to go get her. - 1963 Impala 4 door hardtop (Yes, I know its a 4 door and not 2) - 283 with Powerglide: 99,000 miles (original I think) RUNS GREAT/SHIFTS GREAT - Everything works like it did when new. I repeat....EVERYTHING works (clock, cigarette lighter, AM radio, lights, horn, wipers, heater, etc...) I'm pretty pumped about that! - Fresh repaint (stock color supposedly). Trying to get the paint code figured out. - Very nice interior condition - Very little surface rust under it
Looks good to me! Even though it's a 4 door I still like it and it still has style! Pile your friends in it and cruise!
I haven't taken any good shots of the interior yet, and none of the engine. It needs new carpet and a lower door panel. Also, just ordered all new window weather stripping.
Well, it's already bagged and the engine runs smooth and tight, so probably just slap a 200r4 or something similar in it, put a hidden stereo in, update the interior to new again (new chrome hardware, carpet, headliner, dash painted, LED lights) and detail the engine compartment. Checking out some finned valve covers and a few other things to make the engine a little more presentable.
I graduated High School in 1965. During the 60's the parents owned a 62 and a 66 4-door Impala Hard Top. I have a lot of fond memories dating in those cars. The extra wide front seat was a blast when parked with cute Young Honey. I still think about those days and especially those girls. Getting Old is a Pain.............. Enjoy the car and take the wife or girlfriend to the local drive-in. The car is Cool !!! Jeff
Thanks fellas for the compliments I'm pretty excited about it. I love hearing people's stories of their memories in similar cars. If only these cars could talk...... ;D And sawbuck, of course she's a "lady". I don't let those dirty legs hang out at my house! lol
