So I got a hair up my uh tail pipe to post some pics of the cars that my forebearers drove. Thought it would be fun to see our dads and grampas rides from the past.

Here are a few to start it off.....

Cool idea for a thread!! My dad loved cars, but he kept them stock even though my brother and I nagged him to do this or that. This was one of his favorites, he bought it new........... e. \'56 Chev, Lassen, 1957.jpg

  9. Neat idea for a post. I'll play. Picture of my dad's 1935 Ford roadster. It went to a lot of rodruns in the 70's. It still survives. Not sure it is together though. Love to own it. Black with multi colored flames. 420102_201517643289216_100002929463998_364240_617043336_n.jpg

I'll start posting pics that range from the 50's-90's. Pic of the nomad is from about '73 and is mine now. You'll see some before and after pics. PD_0001[1].JPG PD_0005[2].JPG PD_0008[1].JPG PD_0009[2].JPG PD_0010[1].JPG PD_0012[1].JPG PD_0014[1].JPG

  19. Only photo I have of one of my dad's cars. We couldn't afford a camera back then.
He wasn't much of a car person but he liked this old 49 club coupe enough to put glass packs on it.

Wow! Cool Roadster! Lots of awesome cars.

This one is my uncles. The driver is my uncle Bill, who owned my '50 Coronet before giving it to my dad some 30 years back. mg 1953.jpg

    Paul55,

Do you know the history of the 34-5 Chevy? My Dad sold his in Gibralter about 65 when it was Nailhead powered. 35Chevy.jpg

Dad's '34 came from Paris, Tn and the older pic is from 59-60. Early 60's is was all black and was at the Autorama. Mid 60's got painted metalflake, as seen in later pics. Always had a sbc. He sold it in the early 90's. I've got a buddy, who lived in that area and his dad had a station/repair shop. He has shown me pics of a 34/35 that he bought in the mid-late 60's. Could be same car? I'll talk more with him. Paul

safariknut, Great photos! This one is an ORIENT buckboard with a rear mounter engine. Built in Waltham, Mass. Bob [IMG]

  29. jazz1 just so you have your families history correct thats a harley big twin flat head. the emblems on the tanks were from 41-46. the primary cover on the left side is for a 74 or 80 inch engine. you can see a few fins on the heads so its a flat head. the front brake on the left is harley. indians were right sided. the fenders are too flat for a indian. cool photo. cool very desirable bike. harley did not make civilian use bikes due to the war. the ones they did make were all grey. so i would say if it had not been repainted before the photo was taken to be a 41 or 46.
