Ha! We could fill a container for you guys to take back with you! BTW...who the hell has a cut off date of 1952?? You do! Thank God.... This a beautiful picture! BloodyKnuckles
I think he is taking about The Race of Gentlemen. Great build by the way. I've been following on Instagram, now I will be following here as well! Keep it up!
And while Sondre is masking, I'm painting all the loose stuff. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
It only took 8 hours to mask the lines for the driver side...tomorrow I'm gonna try to replicate it on the other side...that will be a stretch for sure!
Good thread to get lost in. The bar has been raised !! Please come to Orlando, and help me paint my Olds. I'll take you to Disneyworld and buy you an ice cream cone. JT
I'm starting to think it'd be worth going to this year's Bonanza just to see this paint job, because it will be there, right?
Bitchin! Is there a term for this type of intricate paint? Are there even other similarly painted customs? Sorry to distract from the build, I'm loving this ranchero!
There were a lot of intricate paint jobs being done starting in the late '50s and continuing right up to today, as lowriders. But I have to say the paint job on The Maze was absolutely unique, then and now. It must have caused a scene wherever it went. I found this piece of artwork in my photobucket account the other day, and thought I'd add it here. I'm not sure of the artist, but if someone does, please let us know!
Looking good! After one full day of masking to you even have any finger prints left from pressing down the tape?
Guys, for art and inspiration, I gotta tell ya'.... Someone else here on the HAMB also got it years ago, and built a "The Maze" clone.......in 1/25th scale! The paintwork was somehow done by computer, and the results were spectacular! IT'S OUT THERE SOMEWHERE, and by a HAMB'er!!! I'd love for all the artists involved to see each other's similarly inspired, similarly great work! How about a 1/25th scale "Kustomrama Dreamtruck"? SURE! Why not? I'm turning over old stones now. If anyone can help, please do! mo
I know. I was being silly. I'm a huge supporter of the Kustomrama boys. This truck is going to be great!! BloodyKnuckles
