Notice how in these old photos people were proud of their rides. I don't think you could get real excited about anything automotive nowdays!

My dad's '37, he bought it new and drove it well into the 50's. He had it overhauled once, and the mechanic said "I don't ever want to see that motor again, that block was so hard, I broke 3 boring bars on it"! Dad built this house (our family home for many years) on a cash-as-you-go basis. Took him several years. He laid every block by hand, built all the window casings, cabinets, doors, etc . by hand - didn't own a power tool. Maybe they really were the "greatest generation". He later added a garage. a. our house, garage not built yet.jpg

    Dad\'s T side 2.jpg

Here is my Dad's 25' T he had in 32'& 33' , a pretty trick ride back then with a Fronty head & Windfield carb along with a two speed rear and ****pit controlled exhaust cut out
This car ran 108 mph at the dry lakes, that must have been some ride out in the open air with no roll bar

That is the way things were done back then for sure. My dad helped his father build two homes; one in LaCrescenta, Ca and one in Nevada City, Ca.

In the early 70's I helped my dad build our home in Loomis Ca.(kid labor and no power tools!)

Great shots. Don't forget we have the "vintage shots of days gone by" thread as well. Thousands of images on there.
