Well I have heard of chickens being too close to the ground for the tornado to get them but I never heard of Mercuries being to far from the ground for the tornado to get. I hope he gets some help sorting that pile out.
Amazing how certain things end up like that. A buddy of mine lost his house a couple years ago in Moore. His chopped Mercury in the garage didn't fare too well, but one wall of his house and a fish tank with all the fish in it was fine. No fun to have to pick up the pieces after a tornado. Praying for him as they go through the mess.
If I were him I would never have second thoughts about standing under that lift in the future Amazing really- hopefully this was the worst of the damage for him and his family
I hope they can get things back to normal soon. That Merc looks to be a good start. I had a similar experience with my '56 back in 1981. We ran out just before the shop took leave of its foundation.
Didn't remember that pickup from last weekend, but just found it in Travis's coverage of the show. It was a very nice pu and a shame that it just went through getting torn up. It doesn't look bad in the picture, but I am sure the paint is trashed.
Yep that's my shop! The Merc was pretty good shape. The truck did pretty well just some dings and scratches. Most of my parts were in the neighbors field. The house wound up getting the whole south end of the roof got shingles and decking ripped off; we have water damage from that. But over all we are good. Yes the truck was at the stray kat 500 I was the one helping Ron Myers stripe in his tent.
Between tornados and hailstorms the Oklahomans have their work cut out for 'em. But I've never met nicer (or tougher!) folks anywhere. Best of luck rebuilding.
Wow!! Man im sorry to see the damage you were delt, but glad overall you're good!! and that the Merc and truck survived as well!! Looooove the truck too!! I cant see much of it but what i do see looks like it was plucked right outta my head. Lol Tony
Sorry for the looses. I just checked the weather for my home town in Illinois. Tornado watch till tomorrow evening. Just south of where we bought is another tornado alley. Been hit regularly or irregularly. I remember when I was a kid seeing a piece of straw stuck in a tree and friend's mini horses found miles away unharmed.
