Are any of you guys going to the Kalamazoo Swap meet next Saturday and Sunday Feb 4 & 5 ?,... It's a good way to blow off some of this winter crud.
I think I can make it. I am have not been to a swap meet for over 2 years, Thanks Mr. Bush for sending me to Iraq.
Can someone post some info on this meet? Like when, where etc. How big is it usually and what kind of parts can a person expect to find(race, stock, vintage stuff etc) Thanks!
oh wait...now I remember. fuckin 12hr days here is info: http://www.craftlister.com/E1017784/Kalamazoo+Antique+Auto+Swap+Meet
i'll be there saturday, Rev cant make it now though. I will plan on stopping by the meet and greet @ 10! for those who asked, its a pretty varied swap with an emphasis on old-timey, "classics" but you never know what will show up there. Its definately worth the $5. I saw an ad looking for vendors and it was very explicit saying something like "no t-shirt sellers, car parts only" so that should give you an idea...
so, did anyone make it? any good finds? pretty much a bust for me, but then again pretty much everything is when youre broke!
I thought it was big, but it had a bunch of 'collectible' bullshit. I found a flywheel and an old hi-speed gas can...both were UNDER tables so I think that's where they hide all the good shit.
I went out there on Saturday, also... I missed this thread, though! I woulda stopped by @ 10. Ah well. I ended up grabbing a full gasket set for my Caddy 500, a Beverly-type shear from Woodward Tool, and picked up this cool old Trico vac-powered interior fan. I just thought it was neat! Overall the swap meet was alright... not sure it's worth the 2-hour drive though. You're right about everything being under the tables... you had to look hard! Thick crowd made that difficult, too.
I got a rusty windshield frame for my model A. There was 8 of us that went. I think most everybody got something. YEAH that back building was packed.
