I'm looking for a good power antenna that I'll be frenching into tight quarters.... I was looking around on ebay and found some small ones but it's all china **** and last thing I want is them taking a **** on me.

That being said, can anyone point me in the right direction of some quality aftermarket power antennas that take up as little space as possible with their motors?

    THANKS!!

  2. I used a power antenna from a '93 Thunder bird on a build with tight confines if that is any help. I don't know how tight a quarters you are talking about though.

I want to french them in on the rear quarters, at an angle... and of course it's right by the wheel well so the smaller motor, and less space it takes up the better.

I just didn't know if there was a vendor that sells good new antennas. I'm new to cars, used to doing bikes.

  4. You are not going to find much new that is not Chinese or Taiwanese. The thunderbird electric the motor sets off to the side so you could angle it and turn the antenna in whatever direction you needed to to give you the room that you are looking for. Uh, I think. They are certainly cheap enough at the you pull it to be worth looking into.

I'd look for a junk yard antenna. As far as I know most are compact. You don't mention what you are mounting yours on. Most fit from a Hummer to a Smart Car.
My 49 Ford coupe had two rear power antennas. I added a power antenna to my 55 Chevy wagon where the original fit in the right front fender. Picked those up in the 80's at swap meets. Don't know who made them but at least the one on the wagon still works. I mounted it flush and painted the little ball red so it really doesn't show when down. Which is where it is most of the time. Radios are for Prius's !

Must have them. Many have radios. Maybe they mount it on the seat. :(

We're just tryin to help in case you need to add one to your bike. The rear part of a dual seat works fine if you have a female p***enger. :)

I've got an old Tenna Power kicking around, but I have no idea if it works or not or if it'd be small enough. It doesn't sit in my mind as being compact really.
