Changed the wheels on the 32 before selling it. The next best thing to the Goodyear Wheels is Grimlocks Spun covers......I like! Clark
That really does look good Clark. What's involved in mountin' 'em up? Pics? How's the center cap attach? Pics? Are those repro centers?(shut up already, larry).
I think it's a Festiva. I love wheel disks. My T needs something like this, just in a way bigger (21") size. Very road-racey.
The Festiva is my wifes and I had NOTHING to do with it!! These covers are on 16" 40 Ford wheels. The cap just clips in like it would on the wire wheels. The Spun cover gets screwed on. They get four screws but are temporary with 2. Clark
Damn Clark, it looks good with Kevs disks...............hell those disks just plain rock! Wait til I mount my American Saltflats on the A and then drill them for SPUNs for those days I want to cover up.
I love that freakin' car. Loved it on MFS. Have you sold it yet? If not where can I see how much you want for it?
Lucky...it's in the cl***ifieds. Boones...I'm not gonna put the covers on till I get to florida. See you there!! Tman...You got balls!!
I would like to own that car....Maybe some day it will come up for sale and it will be mine...Its really the top 5 cars I would like to own,,(Aside from the Madster) Your car The Outlaw Clone The Bleedster The Pearl White Coupe (MFS 3) John Fishers 36 Ford..Ya know the one from the Choppers. I would Die a happy man. some day
How do those thisngs look painted in person? Are they smooth? Or do you see the spun lines.... i want to run some of those, but I want flawless paint.... is that possible? They look killer..... Dude the Pearl white coupe will be mine...... shhhh..........
Bob - They normally have minor tool marks (which I happen to like) but there are a couple of ways to take care of that if you want a really smooth piece. One way is to hit them with a Scotch-Brite pad on a man sized angle grinder while they're still spinning on the chuck. Knocks the tool marks off and leaves a brushed finish. I've done this for a few peole but I think it cheapens the look of the cover unless you plan on painting it. Second method involves an "egg". This is basically a big steel egg on a stick that is p***ed over the Disc and smooths over the tool marks - looks nearly polished compared to the raw part with tool marks. Anyone from Canada can get GOLD ones if they send in a demo tape.
I got mine, but havn't built the car to put them on (yet). They are that cool.... been thinking about screwing them onto the inner flange, where the hubcap snaps in, instead of around the rim. I'm using 16" wires, not regular steelies. That'll work, right?
Lookin' DAMN GOOD! That car is going to make somebody super happy! Clark- Where did you get those Good Years? Whats the info on them? I'm digging the outside knobbies.
Cool.... I was thinking they might be too rough to paint...... I'm in the market for sure. I like the tooled look myself..... but if they are to be painted, I'd want then smooth. When I get that coupe it will never be for sale...... it belongs with my roadster... but you can come over and maybe I'll let you touch it....
Bob....mine are smooth now with no signs of the spinning. All I did was hit them with the DA quick then primed and sanded. Came out with a mirror finish. Inda...The tires came from Lucas (I think) If you can get to the Goodyear tire website they have a link for the older tires. The down side is they only make two sizes in 16 inch...600 and 650 Clark
Powder coat would work but you would have to spend mre time sanding the aluminum to get the spinning marks out. Wouldn't be too bad on a lighter color. Black shows everything! Clark
