Got this bad ass 327 from the San Diego area...looks like someone walked into a Chevy parts dept and bought a new block...crank and heads then built a motor. Has Forged True pistons....Mickey Thompson aluminum rods...ported heads...primitive style screw in studs (might have been before screw in studs were available) roller cam with rev kit....Eelco oil pan....goes on and on. Looks to have been injected... I think the engine was built in 1964-65....block is standard bore and still has an oil filter canister. Stamped DSC on the crank...anyone recognize the work? The style of porting on the exhaust looks unusual...must have come from the San Diego area...it had been stored there for decades..

I'm thinking DSC could be Don's Speed Center, is/was down near the Sports Arena

This motor was actually part of Bob McCoy's stuff....was stuck under a workbench behind his easel....bought it from a family friend who sold it for his widow...

The front hub looks like a harmonic balancer without the rubber and outer ring...but is actually stamped with lines like a degree wheel for nearly it's entire circumference far as I can tell...

The Eelco pan was also modified with a little triangulation area to fit the larger size of the aluminum rods as they swung down...

Looks like it was a fuel injected engine, Damper ring removed to clear the fuel injection pump driven off cam. Rev kit and ported heads look right for the time. Square exhaust ports were common. Would be interesting to see head casting numbers and block. Is this a small cube or stroker. Pistons look like Cast Domes...... Here is my vintage AHRA engine, Jahns, had a trick solid lifter and 461 heads.
