Ive always liked the odd ones, here are a few different strokes 37 DeSoto 350 TPI Volvo 36 Pontiac 40 Dodge 41 Dodge 41 Merc 48 Olds
My nine year old son Josh just got given a fully restored 36 Nash 4 door by my ex-father-in-law. Will pick it up Thursday night. Not sure what the plans are yet, other than slammed on the ground. Eight years before he gets a license, so plenty of time. New P plate rules here may restrict him to a six for the first three years.......does A twin turbo Nissan powered Nash count as "odd"
The placard said 49, figured the owner knew what year he had. All of that era Buicks look nice done up.
It's a truck...Find a late model Powerstroke or Duramax turbodiesel to put in it. Hop it up some with basic diesel bolt on mods, and enjoy 800 FT/LB of torque and 25 MPG
I love this post. I was swent a pic of a odd rod from mexico. I didn't know what is was until this thread. Now I know its a De soto
For the owner of the 47 Diamond-T above. Here's my 47 Diamond-T Pick-Up. It was a 1 1/2 ton Tow Truck at one time but kept the body only and use a donor 78 C-10 Chevy Ch***i. Would not chopp the roof for the view now is limited. The link below will give you an idea as to how it was all done. http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/golds***chstar@sbcglobal.net/album?.dir=c6c0&.src=ph&store=&prodid=&.done=http%3a//photos.sbc.yahoo.com/ph//my_photos
Put a picture up of that bad boy 47 frazer, I and I'm sure there are others would love to see a pix of it. I once owned a 48 frazer, but at the time I felt that such a piece of americana automobilia should be saved, I was, at the time, a dyed in the wool ANTIQUE Hobbyist but soon learned that rodding was a lot more enjoyable.
I too would like to see the Frazer truck. Here's what I hope mine looks like once I'm done. Probably gonna take me waaaay too long to get it like this though.
hell yeah...nice to see i'm not the only one crazy enough to play with these things. little confused about the year still...found a pic of a '41 model 406 and looked exactly like mine, but your '47 looks a helluva lot like it too. wish the cowl tag hadn't been ripped off. the engine tag is still there, just not where i can read the numbers to find out for sure. thanks for the link!
LOVE THAT HUDSON, It is a inspritional piece of work, makes me want to put everything else on hold and "GET ER DONE" (cable guy quote)
Thanks. as for a bed I am still up in the air to built a stepside box with eather F100 fender cut down to scale or go with a Willy`s truck rear fender. The back of the cab is made from a late 30 Chevy truck roof and cab corner from a early 60`s Fargo 1 ton truck and a S10!!
MAN!!! rodders don't know what they are missing, this post is full of "GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN MARQUES! Rcently when I mentioned Hudson to a Young car guy, he inquired"Was that part of chrysler or ford or Gm?
here's a 38 austin bantam i saw on ebay a while back, had a toyota 4 cylinder which was kind of odd, but i thought it was a pretty mean looking truck. used to be a sedan i think.
Here are some pics of the Frazer... Cut in half and how it was in the process of making it the RPU...I added a pic of the car prior to cutting it in half View attachment 161018 View attachment 161019
