the transmission of my 1953 ford customline is broken. now i want to replace the fordomatic with a aod trans. today i saw a offre of a aerostar trans on ebay that interests me.

    here is the link
    http://www.ebay.at/itm/Ford-Aerostar-Automatikgetriebe-/380470855677?fromMakeTrack=true

here is a link with the technical specifications of the car:

Now my question: is this is a aod transmission like this one of speedway (i have the original flathead)?

NO, that won't work, you want an AOD from a 1988-93 rear wheel drive car like a Mustang or Crown Victoria or Thunderbird it can be from a 3.8 V6 or a 5.0 V8 these years have the later internal upgrades and are still non-computer.You will need a TV cable kit from LOKAR ,these transmissions will work with the AOD to flathead adapter kit.

Jeff ...I think you meant to say..."from a 1988-93 rear wheel drive car like a Mustang...."

Yes, LOL, sorry for the confusion caused by my bad wording, which I've corrected.......
And the OP was apologizing for his "bad" English...which is actually very good.

Any way you can translate the listing to English? If my guess is right that is a 1989 AOD correct?

That is the ideal year for an AOD,he probably meant it had a 302 also known as a 5.0. Here is a picture of an install: http://fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=56456 If you get this transmission you will need the 164 tooth flexplate and this kit: http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Flathead-V8-to-Ford-C4-Transmission-Basic-Adapter-Kit,11051.html And this starter http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Ford-Mi...que-/130682177932?hash=item1e6d43c98c&vxp=mtr I ***ume you have converted to 12 volts?

All the parts you listed are wrong, the notes on the slip yoke state " not for AOD" the bolts are listed for a Chevy, and the cushion is wrong application. You need this: http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/item/LRS-6379AK/79-95-Mustang-Aod-Flexplate-6pc-Bolt-Kit If you had this it has the correct front yoke: http://www.ebay.com/itm/82-83-84-85...el:Crown+Victoria&hash=item2a4de8418a&vxp=mtr Then you change the rear U-joint to this: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/mog-506 then it will bolt right up to your stock rear end. www.rockauto.com has the flexplate part# Z157 $37.79 and the trans mount Westar # EM 2253 $3.28
