Those are part numbers not serial numbers. Theft numbers didn't become popular until the '70s when theft found itself in the spot light.
Did the OP ask for VIN numbers? Chrysler started VIN in 69. I'm guessing that he wants to know if the engine and tranny are correct for the car. That is why those pre 69 Mopars were so easy to copy. Oh why do we bother, he does not seem interested nor reply.
The engine number will be on a horizontal machined pad, front and center and to the left of the distributer. The 63 300 cars came with a raised block engine. Oh yes the numbers were not serial numbers but PART NUMBERS!
Thanks for the info. Will be seeing the car this weekend. It's suppose to be an original owner/drive train California rust free car.
Thanks 270dodge Found the block numbers. T 38 on top and 411 below it and there's a Maltese Cross stamped into the block next to each set of numbers Do you think this is the original engine? T = 1963, 38 = 383. 411 = April 11. Maltese Cross - .001" undersized bearing shells Maltese Cross and an X - .010" undersized crankshaft Thanks
Yes it looks like an original. It appears to have the 4 bolt valve covers and that would indicate that the cylinder heads were not swapped for 65 and later.
