Great build, nice to see you are back at it. What are you planning to use for the B-pillars? On my current Malibu Wagon 2dr Nomad conversion I used ElCamino doors and B-pillars. Worked out great and structurally sound. 59 or 60 ElCamino might work well for your application.
Hey "R" just read front to back . Rad build! Love elcamino s .love 59's love where you are going with this ! Keep up the good work!
Great thread, great builds! My first car was a '59 Bel Air two-door sedan, and the bat-wing Chevys have been a favorite of mine ever since, kudos.
Got to work alittle on the dash today. Got the 59 caddy autronic eye head mounted on the dash along with fitting some of the other parts.
Please post pics of the steering when you get done with it - I want to improve the steering on my '60
So I was able to get the windshield frame roughed in today. Got to do some more trimming tomorrow so I can get the windshield in.
So I got the 454 set in the frame today. Got to take front suspension pieces down to get sand blasted then I can get the frame rolling.
My first elcamino had a 500 Cadillac in it. That was a lot of fun. You could power brake it, would torque the suspension and take all the weight off the driver rear wheel and just roast the tire at 1000 rpm!
Kid you have really made some progress this weekend ! You are going to have one cQQl ride when your done !!!! Ol Deuce
To chop, or not to chop. That is the question. ......hahaha Just set her Damn Low! thats the trick !!! Way Low!!!!!! Ol Deuce
That's really cool looking. Sure looks like a lot of unsupported roof at the back though. Think it would be strong enough, or would the side windows keep falling out when you went round a corner?
