WOW! That's a great freakin start!
I agree with Larry, that quarter will save with some initial jack work followed by some diligent hammering. Once it's straight, reward yourself by ordering a Brookville deck lid.

Upload some photos once you get the ****py fenders, grille, etc. stripped off and it's down to a body sitting on the frame.
Were you lucky enough to have the inside garnish moldings included?
Any history on it or what powered it? Looks to possibly be a late 60's/early 70's build by the looks of the gauges, mirror, antennae, wheels, Mustang (?) tailights, etc.

Counting the minutes until a Deuce god chimes in to tell you how bad off you are by not having the correct dash, ashtray, cigar lighter...

Good deal, BA. I was expecting much worse. That is really pretty good for a 32 sitting out all that long. Good thing about 32s is you can get just about anything repo........if you have enough money.
It will look a lot better once you discard all the **** thats attached to it.

Its kind of large to hide from the misses though..;)

Looks fine to me, it's had paint on all it's life. Start a build thread once you learn how to post photos, it sure isn't the Roughest '32 on the HAMB. Bob

Yep, not the worst out there, definately a good project. But of course you knew that, otherwise you would not have bought it. Start a build thread to keep us informed please.

Thanks guys. you guys are very positive. the local deuce goo-roo says i would be lucky to part it out and get my money back. not going to say what i paid for it, but it was between 500 and 5000. and i'm not fishing for a whats-it worth thread. What i paid is what i thought its worth.and i paid exactly what the guy asked, didn't ****er with him.
some one here once said something like "you never pay to much for a 32,you just might buy it a little early"
But i really thought it may be too rough, and it may be for my skill level. But its mine.

Your duece guru is trying to buy it from you with buyers remorse , I paid 4,000 just for the doors in your same condition someone would probably be happy to double your money on that car

I'd say less than 10k was a good deal 5 or less was a gift!..

. You could probably sell the messed up 32 frame and bent up decklid on eBay for 1000

Do yourself a favor though if its above your skill level learn skills or find someone who has them , don't start practicing on this car with a flux core welder and a couple gallons of bondo , a good metal guy can straighten that out for a few grand ... I'm not talking maaco either search for someone good

He's right on the money there, that statement fits the Deuce as much as any car built.
Once you get the hang of this place and learn how to use the computer, you will spend more time on it than you ever thought you would, that is what motivated me to learn.
One thing you will find here is that we thrive on photos of HAMB friendly cars and trucks. Even if you don't have much to say, we always like the photos.
BTW---there is a build thread here from the recent past, a guy from Italy(I think) is having to do MAJOR reconstructive surgery on his 32 coupe, by my memory you are starting with a body with much less work required than his.
You may be able to recoup (a little) of your initial investment with just one trip to the swap meet. I think you will find you are way ahead of the game with your purchase even if you kept just the body.
P.S.--my wife visited Orange Beach and really enjoyed it.

That poor ******* of a car. Do it proud.

  12. Bruce,

You NEED to drop that ol jalopy wreck off at my place. Carlos said he wont cheat on the Elcamino and ride in the ol coupe. The SOLUTION is to let me take if off your hands, fix it, and drive it to Wyoming, Texas, Novia Scotia...etc :) Cool project for a super nice guy. Congratulations on getting her home.

I'll pm you my address :)

I've got to admit, it's an interesting approach ( the original build) BUT other than being a bit bent up ( and having some prior bodywork coming un-glued), it actually looks pretty solid. Get a hammer and dolly set for Father's Day and go to town!! Good luck with it! ( and it's mandatory that you post pictures!)

It looks like an incredible find to me. Shoot, I have never started with a car that nice or that complete. My 32 3w is literally a pile of mismatched parts and I paid what you did. I feel I got a good deal!

Doesn't look all that bad to me, if you really got that for $5K or less, I'd say you did really, really well. Real '32 3W's do not come cheap, and that one is very fixable in my book.

Great find! The p***enger side really looks pretty straight and the drivers side can be pulled out and straightened, but that would best be trusted to a guy with the skills to do it well. The old girl deserves some love after what its been through. It's great to see another old Deuce rescued and resurrected from near death!

What a great find! But...as has already been said, this is not a car to use as a learning exercise. If it's above your skill and financial level, enjoy your membership in the '32 Ford Club for as long as it lasts until you find a new owner for it. Even damaged, the steel 3-window body alone would be worth a small fortune to the right guy - one who has another small fortune to build it right. Good luck!

Congrats ! A little of this and that, a few hours and $$$, another Henry "B" saved. Admire the skills and dedication to take this type of project on, watched a friend do this w/ a 40 coupe, took 3/4 years and many $$$, turned out real nice and made me realize that a project of that size is beyond me and my skill set, was always too busy when young, now old, ambition, health issues and other excuses have won out. Love Hot Rodding !
Good Luck w/ your 32, keep posting as you go.

Reminds me of a saying that goes---
"How does a guy end up with a small fortune in his car? he starts with a large fortune".

Man, if it took me 3 or 4 years to get that straight ,I 'd be happy as a pig in ****! You got yourself the top of the heap there Brother!! Hardest step is the first, and you may get fed up and feeling like you're going backwards, but you can always walk away and take a break. ( or throw stuff- works for me). Get a Hot Rodder / body guy in your area to grill for ideas on an approach, and maybe even push some of the real bad spots around for you . Barter and trade favors and keep picking away at it- you can do it. And it DOESN'T have to cost a fortune- patience and persistance

Larry, could you and other 3Window owners post some "As Found" along with "Finished" photos of your cars? This would be very inspiring I think. Bob
