    I sold my 62 Dodge to a guy from Belgium who bought it from me at Pomona, Cal.........he took it to Long Beach, CA to have it container shipped home. That's a long way from Virginia, however.

    A few years ago I was involved in shipping a bunch of cars to Europe, from Jacksonville , Florida.
    We shipped them on a roll on roll off ship which is used to bring BMWs and Mercedes to the US.

    I did not arrange the shipping/pricing but I know this "backload" was a whole lot cheaper than other means of getting cars to Europe..
    It is not that far from Norfolk ,Virginia, to Jacksonville. Might pay to check it out.

    Shipping by a RoRo-Ship is by far the cheapest, but also the most riscfull.
    If the car is not running I believe there will be a extra charge, I guess it's for the forklift-driver so he can mindlessy jam the forks under the car and drive it onboard ;)

    Slapshot, you might want to try and ask for info on one of our Dutch USCar-Forums about their experiences with carshippers. Try this one;

  8. Check with Racon lines: I know they ship from the west coast to Antwerp, don't know about east...

    Interfracht helped me to get my car over here.They have offices on every coast and they also pick up the car from the seller for extra cash.About 1+$ for every mile.I know they also have the option to ship cars to Rotterdam.I picked up mine in Bremerhaven/Stuhr,Germany.It was very simple to handle just like ordering a t-shirt.No kidding.
