    Hello all,

I am new guy to the site but have been a car guy for all of my 50 yrs. I am very passionate about Chevrolet mainly but have an open mind

I am recently very interested in learning as much as I can about the old Chevrolet boat tail speedsters. Any links to literature, books, cd's, dvd's, etc that I could get on the subject would be very appreciated and helpful. I am also a new member of the NWVS.

Hope to get to know many of you moving forward.

    Take care,
    Tom

  2. Welcome aboard Tom.
Speedsters are cool, and there's a few around, I'm messin with a 28 Hudson, came with cowl but no body, so I'm using a 39 Terraplane hood for boat tail rear.

Anyways, if you havnt seen it, there's a great homebuilt Chevy Speedster build thread here, that I'm sure yourl enjoy.
    Try the search function.
I'll check back later, and if you havnt found it, I'll track it down, and throw up a link. Its primer brown, running a Chevy six.

You might want to check out "Northwest Vintage Speeders" in your area. I don't have their web-site, but Google should help.

Well you probably don't want a "speeder" link as those are the little carts that run down the railroad tracks.

This will keep you off the streets and out of the bars for a few hours though http://www.nwvs.org/ Lots of photos and ideas as you scroll down through the photos of the cars and through the event photos.

    Thanks guys,

I just sent the check to join the NWVS. I live in the Northwest so it will be nice to be able to attend some events.

Nothing being built yet, just dreams :) I am thinking of buying some rails to get my inspiration going but wonder if I should go with a 32 type or the earlier? I have seen some speedsters built on the 32 rails and they look OK.

This is going to be a very long term deal for me. I have several other projects to finish first.

    Take care,
    Tom

Not exactly the speedster I thought, oh speeder, haha. Kind of cool in it's own right.

Nothing on a build yet but working on a plan.
