I'm close to being ready to install the gl*** in my 35 Ford sedan. Anyone had any experiences ordering the precut gl*** kits several vendors offer. My regular gl*** supplier has no patterns for my car. Any recommendations much appreciated.......thanks
Well, a gl*** company that caters to specialty cars should have an unlimited catalog of patterns in its inventory. Also, the good suppliers will have the ability to dress/polish the exposed edges. Wish I had more for you.
I ordered gl*** for my 36 Ford pickup off the internet, (through MACs). I thought the quality of the gl*** cutting was poor, at best, mostly because the edges were poorly polished. I'd try somewhere within driving distance so I can have a face to face with the vendor and do an inspection before accepting delivery for my next project.
There was a gl*** guy on here that shipped all over. His pictures looked great. Seems his name was Battles, maybe.!
Why not make the patterns yourself, then bring to your gl*** guy and say copy these and polish edges. We have used thick cardboard to start out with then transferred to something stiffer like plywood. I have just found thick plastic at a sign shop that I'm using for door panels I think I paid $45. for a 4' x 8' sheet. Pat
Bob's cl***ic auto gl*** in Oregon , I think he is an Alliance vender on here. That is where my Lincoln gl*** came from
Got my shoebox gl*** from Auto City Cl***ics as a package deal . All the gl*** at a decent price , shipped to my door unbroken (yea , I had my doubts about shipping gl*** too , lol) . Fit like a charm & worth every penny to be looking out through nice new gl*** .
What Finn said had to ship mine back and the gl*** still did not fit. Bought more from a local guy end of problem. Not cheap at that point.
Bought for my'35 from Mac's (I think). Edge polishing wasn't the greatest, but everything fit fine. Since the windshield frame is two piece, it was set in black urethane instead of the cork setting tape. Getting them in the right location on the side window bottom frames was a bit of a chore as was installing them in the door first then getting the mechanism installed. Just time and patience.
I got my gl*** for my 41 ford pu from chris blattie great guy to deal with and his work was spot on tom
Another vote for Chris Blattie, that is who I used for my '40. He will send your gl*** carefully packaged in a nice wooden box.
