**english is not my primary language. sorry if I make a couple of mistakes** Hi, I've been taking info and reading people history on the HAMB for the last years so I decided it was about time to post a lil' something from my own. For the last 2 years, I've been working in Chibougamau, a small town called The doors to the great north. It's a 4 hours long road trip from where I live and the 2 last hours of road is an empty road with a s**t load of moose and bear. At mid trip, you have to cross a small town named La Doré. At the end of the town there's a couple of remote house. That's where, two years ago, when I first drove to my new job, I found a pretty amazing 63 Ford Fairlane. This is where the story become really interesting. Every time I drove past this car, I was stopping and starring at it because I do not understand why the car was having the nose sitting so high in the air. That was two years ago, and back then I do not known a clue about G***er, let alone old american iron. I took this photo on Street View. this is the very car I'm talking about The car sit, as is, for two long year without moving. Until last weekend. Last week, here in Saguenay, it was the first time of the year we could take our summer car and go for a ride. One of my pal, who own a 84 Buick Regal swapped with a 350 SBC and some other stuff, shown up at my house an we drove up to his summer house, about an hour or so before the g***er. While on the road, we talked about his new E.T. goal for the summer and the chat fall onto this g***er I've seen and how bad*** this thing would look with me in it. Long story short, I've decided to make a man from myself and knock at the g***er's home doors. (This is yet to come, as I've got to wait my friend with the buick. It should be this week, gonna keep you updated on this). Since I was talking non-stop about this ride, my girlfriend asked me if I want to do a lil' road trip to show her the Fairlane. Saturday evening we've the road. When I came up to the g***er's home...SURPRISE!!! no more Fairlane. Worst, the guy wasnt there to answer all the questions I had. After searching for a s****yard in the town for what seems to be an hour (in fact, it was probably like 10 minutes. You see, it's a really small town) I've finally stopped in a little gas station to ask for a s****yard and bla bla bla. At the gas station, there was a bunch of villager that joined the conversation and after 15 minutes of chatting, a guy pointed me in the right direction to find the guy. Last evening, after a complete day of searching, I finally found the guy on Facebook. He told me that the car was not there because one of his friend is currently having the car on his land to check a couple of thing. He also told me that he'll got me in touch with the guy and that i could have the car if I want to. When I asked the guy why the car was sitting so high ( I just wanted to know if the guy know he was having a g***er and how rare it could possibly be) he told me that he found the car on his grand-dad land a couple years ago when he p***ed out, and that he took it home to see if he could swapped a front diff of a truck to go 4x4 with it since the car already have leaf spring in the front (major facepalm). He also told me that he left the car unmolested since he found it. So this is where I am. I'll keep you updated when I'll have some other info. If I have this car, I would like to do a mid 60 drag car replica with hand paint logo and period correct pie crust cheater slick. thank you for reading
Good Luck! Pic is too small for me to view at work, but i hope it's everything you want it to be. It would be a shame for someone to put a diff up front and go 4x4 with it. -rick
