I spent the day there......drove 1200 miles in the rpu with no top, 2 days of that in the rain...worth every bit of the trip. What a great venue, great show, great cars, and a GREAT effort by Mike of Nick's Garage to put this deal on. The weather was great, warm, sunny, lots of rain clouds in the distance but no rain at the drags. You locals within a couple of hundred miles that did not com really missed out!
It was a great weekend. My 80 year old buddy JACK got a 29 TUB just for this event and the HILL CLIMB. I have never seen him so happy. He said its the most fun he has had in years. I also had a great time racing my sons Deuce I'm sure glad I didn't break anything. What a back drop.
No ****!! We drove 32 hrs in from MI & couldn't agree more. The Movie Manor was a freakin GREAT venue! The owner, Mike is promising an even better setup for mext year!
This was an amazing event. Everyone that I talked to said it was worth the trip and I know there were people there from TX, MN, MI, etc. Not sure why EVERY cool car from Denver was not there..... It seems everyone will be going to the NSRA event in Pueblo but an event like this should be attended by EVERYONE within 200 miles. Support the independents!!!! You guys did an awesome job. Hope I can make it again next year.
Those guys can have the NSRA events. I'll drive to Monte Vista for this 1000 times over the "Streetrod Nationals". The Dirt Drags represent what hot-rodders build cars for, to drive, drag, and drool over. Not to park in some parking lot and complain about how you didn't get to buff out the paint and run the California duster over it before the show. We drove down in our '47 Hudson and had an awesome time. It was like hotrod immersion school!
