Just testing waters, Model A engine prices?

A neighbor and me may be building somethin pretty cool this spring and was wondering what a running A engine and ****** go for? And what do A rearends with the mechanical brakes go for to? Thanks for any info about this stuff, it'll be my first banger.

i just bought and a coupe at the sacto swaps this weekend i want to sell the complete ch***is roller with motor and ****** and rear its in auburn now

 

My guess is that he means the engine had low compression in one cylinder.

Sold a rusty front and rear at Hershey this Fall for $50.00 and was happy to get it. Have another front and rear that I'd be more than happy with $40.00. An A engine, just an unknown lump is about $50.00 here on the East Coast. A runner might bring 200-250.

 

(not that it is an A motor per say) but a the Turlock swapmeet there was a "C" motor (a counterbalanced "B") for sale at $750.00

 

Even if an A engine runs, that REALLY does not mean much. It can run and still need a total rebuild

My Buddy has five motors and would sell all of them for five 3 were running take outs and the other were??? with trans..
