Picked up some roth .015 bad azzz blue flake that I plan on mixing in urethane 2K clear and spraying over catalazed enamel that has already cured. I am hoping it will not react badly and lift the enamel, but I will try some on a small part first.
Question is since the enamel is already hardened what grit sand paper should I sand it with before spraying the clear, or should I just spray the clear without sanding? I figure I have lost any potential chemical bond since the enamel is already cured. I have never sprayed flake before and I am really looking forward to trying it.

    400 grit should be OK.

how many coats of clear to bury the flake and what is a normal time to allow between coats for flash time? I am doing both horizontal and vertical surfaces (dash and door inspection panels) for my 51 F1.

Wow I guess not many people like to spray flake! Going to spray it tomorrow regardless so we will see what happens.

just went through this with pearl...like indyjps wrote, please use the intercoat clear to spray the flake.it is basically a basecoat with no pigment, hence clear.it dries very fast and the flake won't move around like it most definitely would do if you mixed it with regular clear.
I would add at least two coats of regular clear over the intercoat...I don't know what finish you are after, but if you want a good finish,do not skimp on the clear, buy the good stuff.
you might also consider an adhesion promoter to make sure the intercoat stick in all areas, especially places that you can't get to to sand properly,,,wish someone had told me some of this stuff before I got myself in trouble.

I spray flake in clear, but have read a lot about putting it in an intercoat, which is probably a better idea. I lay my flake then 3 or 4 coats of clear. 600 grit to knock down the texture and another 2 or 3 coats of clear. Seems to bury it pretty well that way.

Ended up spraying it in regular clear, since that is what I had. I have been told flake goes everywhere and that is the truth, next time I will wear a tyvek suit! Flakes are stuck all over my clothes lol. Anyway came out good for my first time, had to get a good pic but here is the best one I took.
