Dude you gotta give A.I.G. a call they have been covering me and my old lady for 6 years now. We were real young when we got married and couldnt afford any companies out there due to my driving record. They shoped around and found the best rates available to us. Have been with then ever since. They have always covered my old rides with no problem. My agent let me in on a tip, if you are working on a project for an extended period of time just put parking or storage insurance on it until you get it back on the road. Now whenever i have projects going it cost hardly anthing at all but if anything happens like a robbery or a fire or what ever might happen it is still covered. works out great for me then when it hits the road it goes back to regular coverage. Just an idea hope this helps.

  3. Hard to imagine nobody wanting to insure a car that is already in 1000 pieces.

I got to visit my Farmers agent a few times last fall. First I wrecked my truck, it was my fault, I have to pay to fix it (I'll probably spend less than a grand on parts). I've had it insured with them liability only (it's been a daily driver) for close to 30 years. I shudder to think what it would have cost in total premiums for full coverage over that time...way more than a grand.

Then a week later a girl pulled out in front of me, I was driving my 93 crown vic that I bought for $350 a couple years ago. She had Farmers insurance....the nice claims adjuster came out and looked at my CV, wrote it up, and I got a check for $1400 a week later.

Then a month ago my son pulled out in front of someone in the CV, banged up the other side of the front end. his fault....no collision coverage...we spent 2 hours making it look presentable....the car don't owe us nothin

My point? if I have one, it's that you might just want liability coverage on the caddy.

just insure it and then if anything does happen and they total it you can argue with what they will give you for it and then you can buy it back. so not only do you get money but you also get to keep the car. you would have to get into a pretty serious wreck to make that caddy not driveable. and at that point im sure the car would be the least of your worries

Try Unitrin Direct (http://www.unitrindirect.com). They saved me $120 a month over Progressive. Call them on the phone so they can enter all your information. As you get older you "Insurance Rating" will increase and you'll get cheaper insurance. When i was young, i hated insurance companies, i had a great driving record and still do and had to pay for mistakes made by idiots my age.

my "collector" 1969 chevy nova was insured with regular insurance, when i got in to an accident with it - i made a big fuss when they wanted to total it, they set the value of the car at 8k - a totaly stupid sum for a car thats not worth that in s****. most insurance is not "by the books" as you would think. for this reason i trust my 60 buick, 58 cadillac and 54 buick to normal insurance. its not a big deal. get insurance and drive the car
