Event Coverage Hot Rod Dirt Drags----Pix

I went to the Hot Rod Dirt Drags in Monte Vista, CO today. There was a great turnout, and I saw some HAMBers I recognized from the HAMB Drags. Awesome event!

 

Absolutely great event. Good venue with motel next to the track. Looking forward to next year already.

I was there...a great show!

 

Great event....saw a bunch of HAMB friendly cars with Colorado plates . Definately on my "to do" list next year. A lot of the participates are heading west to the LA Roadsters event in Pamona, while a bunch are heading east to Lincoln for the Speedster Reunion at Speedway Motors.

Boy, does THIS take me back to "the day"! First drags held at my "home" track in 1954 were on dirt. It was a flying farmer landing strip that became known as Central Michigan Dragway at Stanton. In modern times it's now the Mid Michigan Motorplex. Thank you, this is really cool!
