Fellow Hambers,I need your help.Searched everywhere can't seem to find the info I'm after. My 51 Chieftain may need a box rebuild, can't find parts tho. Will the other brands work? Possibly as a bolt in?I figure 49-52 would be close. I've seen rebuild kits for Chevs would that possibly work? Any and help greatly appreciated. Thanks,Tazareno

  3. 49-57 it's not terribly hard to convert to a 605 box out of an 80s G-body car. Pontiac used their own frame and likely the only swap is a manual box for those years. Some changes in the 55-57 cars so they're liable to be different.

Actually, on these, the column and box is all one piece to remove from the car. Kind of a pain in the *** to get it all apart.

Thanks,I called Lares before my post. No parts, just rebuild service available. Have thought about the swap, just not interested in the look of a newer column [emoji53]
