Are all 351W balancers the same? 28oz external? Could I use one off a 96 F150? I can not see the timing marks on my balancer.

all 351 W all have 28ox balancers. Not to be confused with 5.0(302) which were 28oz until the 80;s and changed to 50 oz

NOT so fast! before you plunk down some bucks to buy a balancer be aware that over the years Ford changed the overall length of the balancers and this can drive you nuts with pulley alignment the tech tips here will explain it: http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Professional-Products-Small-Block-Ford-Harmonic-Balancers,1802.html (click on the technical notes PDF) When doing a swap in earlier Fords the length of the SBF's can sometimes be an issue, you can make them shorter by using the early length balancer and pulleys as explained in detail here: Scroll down to post #5 http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/sbf-short-water-pump-pulleys.303600/
