Apparently he was quite the bar room brawler too. I'm hearing a lot of crazy stories from his old friends that come to look at the coupe. The more I hear about him the more proud I am to have his deuce.

So last friday was opening night of a Robert Williams art exhibit in Santa Rosa. Vern Tardel was in charge of the hot rods to be parked out front as part of the festivities . My wife and I took the coupe but doubted we could sneak the car in so we parked around the corner. And went to the show . The art exhibit was awesome. To look at his art in person. To see the pencil lines as well as brush strokes and minuet details was completely different experience from the coffee table books we've all seen. After completing the rounds we went back outside where I okayed it with Vern to bring in my coupe. Some time p***ed and low and behold here comes Mr Williams and his wife Suzan to look at my car. I got to be a fly on the wall so to speak as he pointed out features he liked to his wife. Eventually mrs Williams asked if the car was mine.. Guess my big smile gave me away. She introduced herself and we got to talk a while. Then Vern introduced me to Robert who thanked me for bringing my car..... Talk about a roll reversal. All and all I was totally stoked! Congrats on having the coolest 5W coupe I've seen in a long, long time..........and ditto everyone's comments on the rear crossmember!! And the story and history of the car and its previous owner is priceless!!!! And damn fine photography too!! Hope I can see it close up sometime......maybe at the roadster show this weekend??????

Your 5W is one of my favorites too, Brady! Are we going to see it at George's AZ Deuce Day this fall?

Rudy owns Fullerton Fabrication down in Brea Southern California Google his name and you'll see his work.
As far as making it to the roadster show this weekend . It's not in the cards for me. But I will be at the Deadend Custom Capital Cruise and then the Gambino Sit Down July 10-11

No, Jerry. It's 114 degrees today without air conditioning in the garage. So unfortunately I am done for the summer. October of 16 hopefully.
