Anybody know what springs Kimbridge/RB's Obsolete used on their 1942-48 Chevy car rear leaf kits? Or know how to contact the folks? I bought the kit from RB's many years ago when they were in the Lynnwood Washington area. The leaf springs were on back order at the time. They eventually coughed up some springs. Many years later, I have finally installed the kit, including the huge lowering block saddles. Rear sits way too high and not located in center of wheel well. I saw many who used this kit and looked great. Makes me think my back ordered springs were the wrong ones. I recognize I am out a couple hundred dollars. Now I'm just looking to make the car right so I can get it closer to being on the road. Before you ask, I replaced the spring perches with the kit pieces, tossing the stock parts long ago, complicating using anybody else's parts.
Build some lowering blocks and offset drill the locating pin to center the rear end in the opening. After you drive it for a while, it will settle. They may be the wrong springs, but try them for now. At least you have a starting point.
Thanks. Do you have any contact info? Address, phone number, name of owner? Their website is gone. I'm not expecting parts from the guy. Just looking for info so I can track down the right parts.
I don't know if they are still in business. Dept of Revenue says inactive since 2013. 7617 160TH ST SE Snohomish, Washington 98296 (425) 487-0763
Just a thought but call the folks at Chevs of the 40s and see if they can help. They were compe***ors in the same town and probably know each other well. Over the years I bought parts from both and had no problems with either one.
