Here's a pic of my latest purchase. Untried to convince my family that it's a dump truck and will help move a bunch of dirt on our property that I need to move. They saw right through that and said I have a problem! But at least I admit it. Do anybody you guys know a good source for parts? Needs some brake work. Seems like all the Chevy truck parts houses only carry the 1/2 & 3/4 ton stuff. Thanks!
Try Golden State Parts. Yet have a decent online catalog. I buy most of my parts there. Mainly because it's a block from work. Prices are better than regular auto parts houses. For example I needed a master cyl for my '58. Napa wanted $190 special order. They had it in stock for $93 What parts do you need exactly?

Chevys of the 40s Fillingstation.com Both are trusted vendors. There is also a lot of help to be had on the Stovebolt.com And there is nothing wrong in a Dump Truck, especially if you have good to use it! This a 1968 Bedford J5 6tons 3way tipper. 300 cui Bedford Diesel with a 5speed (5th is direct) and a single speed rear. Defenetly needs bigger tires, especially for highway use What are you running 265, 4speed w/ granny first and 2speed rear? How about rust?
Thanks again! I believe it has the 216 block. It does have the 4 speed with the granny gear but not a 2 spd rear. All original and runs pretty well. The brakes are the only issue at this point. The guy I got it from said it would hold brake fluid for a couple weeks and then eventually lose pedal. I noticed a stain from fluid on the rear wheels/tires below the adj screws so that's probably where it's leaking from. The other problem is that I think he was topping off with DOT 3 fluid so I'm thinking about flushing and either rebuilding the Master or replacing. It looks a little cruddy/rusty just looking down into the opening.
Look at the side of the engine with the distributor...if the side cover extends all the way up to the valve cover, over the side of the head, then it's a 216. If the side cover stops below the head, then it's a 235
Napa or any real parts store can get wheel and master cylinders. The same hard parts were used for many years.
I remember when those were sitting on the farms around here and they couldnt give them away. Yours is totally cool. Both of youse guys.
