So my grandpa has owned this car since the late 60s or early 70s and when i was little he promised it to me when i got older. About 5 years ago i finally took possession of the car and it has only been run a couple times a year since. My wife and i have 3 little ones and bun number 4 is in the oven so obviously not much time/money for hot rods... The car was drivable but needed some work to get it "safe" drivable (brakes, tires, steering etc...) which is another reason it sat so much...But this year for fathers day i got a nice surprise from my father - he took the car in and had it completely gone through so I can start cruising with my kids!!! I am super stoked and now that its ready for the street i can focus on the upgrades i wanted to do to it (when the money is available of corse). My plans are to leave it a 4 cylinder car but would like a "high" compression head, downdraft manifold with a holley 94, and upgraded exhaust manifold just to give it a little hot rod feel and i would like to lower it a couple inches so that it has the stance to go with the new white walls - my question is who makes/sells quality parts to give my car some at***ude? snyders antique auto sells a downdraft intake and a performance exhaust manifold and a 6.0:1 compression head - are these quality parts? they all state made in the USA which is a requirement for me with this car whenever possible. next, who makes parts to lower a model a? can't seem to find much for reverse eye lowering springs...

can't get a pic of the car to upload....

Nice looking car. The Snyders 6:1 cast iron high compression head is a quality product. I have one on my car and it has made my car more driveable. There will also be a remanufactured cast iron high compression Winfield head available in the not too distant future ( I hope). It is being made by Tod ****ermore who makes and machines quite a few parts for Snyders. Have a search on the FordBarn for more info on the Winfield Head.

Posies are a source for dropped axles and reverse eyed springs that I know of, but hopefully someone else will chime in and offer more sources for you.

    Good luck with the car.

A-springs.com. get a reverse eye front and rear. Buy extra centering bolts. You will rarely get the height you want first try with leaf removal. Search for threads on the subject. You can also use a 32 36 axle for the front w 32 34 spring perches for another 1.5 drop up front
