This guy has been tryin to sell this '51 on CL for the last couple of months. Can't figure out why it hasn't sold. It's really clean and he's only askin $17k.

 

Had a great time at Back To The 50's with 3 days of beautiful weather and many great hot rods. Sorry I did not get to take as many photos as I wanted, especially Saturday. The photos I posted represents less than 1% of all the HAMB friendly hot rods that were present.

Hot Rod Magazine shot some good photos as well.

If ever there was an ambassador for the Melt Down Drags, this vintage dragster would have to be it. The owner lit this power plant moments after I shot this photo. I have it all on video, but my upload 'fails' when I try and upload it to youtube. As you can imagine, this monster splits your eardrums.

 

I stand corrected. Thanks for straightening that out. It's interesting to know that he did own that actual car. So Tom Davison was right... Cool!

And I don't care if it's the real thing, a clone or a plastic scale model... I still love it.

I hold a grudge for a long time so I haven't been up there. We got caught in the flood in 2008 and the hotel wouldn't refund our room but they re-sold it. And that was the headquarters. Not interested in being near that kind of thinking even though it's hot rod heaven. If you look at the house in the background, picture fast flowing muddy water covering the brick foundation up to the top of the white skirt board. Dealing with the hotel attitude polished it off.

I was finally successful uploading the video to my youtube account. As many of you HAMBers are aware, these are very loud. When he cracked the throttle open, it went right through me, my ears stung, and you could physically feel the ferocious power of this beast.

Thanks for taking the rad pics of my car! 50's was the first time I had the car out of my neighborhood, I got driving about 4 days before the show!

Your coupe is spot on. It stopped our group in our tracks. It wasn't until Sunday afternoon after we walked the swap meet that we saw it.

I would be willing to bet we will all be seeing more of this car. I'm sure it will be in some hot rod magazines....for sure!
