Installed some DJ blower restraints today and modified body to suit, also fabricated some zoomie covers, getting there. Glen
WOW!! Great car. If you ever get tired of it, I will take it off your hands. LOL. This thing is all that and a bag of chips. Great work, and just looks so right!
Modified floor pan for altered today to suit deep pan of powerglide. I was thinking of making a full length floor pan to catch any fluids from engine / fuel tank etc. What do others think / currently use. My current floor runs from rear of engine back. Glen
I would run a belly pan for the transmission also. Anything to help keep any fluids off the track, and from going under the tires.
Never thought of dropped nuts and bolts etc, I will definatly extend current pan. Stay tuned for progress / pics. Thanks heaps, Glen
Nice work Glen , The Clean up guys at the track will love this, That was another reason I put the belly pan on mine,I've helped clean up oil downs before and,, Well lets just say it sucked,,, Tim Jones
Makes sense on the belly pan up front - acts kind of like a reverse wing . . . lots of surface area for air to lift the front of the car. BTW: Love this thread . . . a lot of learning going on, just by being an on-lurker. I love early Hemi stuff - can't wait to finally get back to my 34 coupe project - has been on hold for other projects for 7 years!
Here is one of my favorite old time Fiat Coupes - built/ran by a legendary racer named 'Jazzy Nelson'. He ran a 9.10 in 1955 (fastest drag car) . . . with a flathead (beat everybody in the big OHV engines). He was sponsored by Isky and Ed make a lot of special cams for him. Everybody thought he only ran an Isky 404-A, but Ed make him a special billet '505' radius cam - but it was a 'big secret' at the time. Anyway, here is the only picture I have of the car:
Progress slow of late due to working heaps to fund this project, here are a few pics of recent fabricated items. I decided on the this valley cover / thru chassis breather system due to wanting to keep the old school look of the Donavan breathers (they will be blocked of) Glen
Thanks guys, here are a few pics of my new 16 Volt lithium battery and mount (battery $1000.00 AUD approx. $1300.00 US and charger $500.00 AUD). Weighs approx 3kg. Glen
A few more pics from today, making some fuel lines /fuel primmer and pump /mounting data logger, Glen
Fabricated left and right footrests, very tight cockpit, I'm only five foot five and its very cramped , throttle pedal required to be moved back one and a half inchs to clear gearbox oil lines not pictured. Glen
