I am looking for some suggestions as to what would be the best adhesive to use for gluing the rubber vent window seals on my 1950 mercury. I have chopped both the front and real vent windows and have purchased new seals. Of course these things are not cheap so I want to make sure that if I cut and glue them that they stay in place.

3M weatherstrip adhesive (use black). Put a little on the ends that need to be glued together and let it tack up, then stick them together. Same proceedure for gluing the weatherstrips in place. If you get a little bit on the paint, let it dry then put a little brake clean on a rag and wipe the glue off. I have used this stuff for a long time and it will hold a weatherstrip with a death grip so make sure it goes where you want it to be.

The black is fine. I believe I have the 3M 08001 here. It gives you enough time to position the part before it sets up.
