Wait! Maybe there are some parts on that I could use.... No, evertime I think I'm out, that's how they pull me back in.
Seriously, one of my 201 trucks originally had 20" wheels. (That was an option.) I heard a rumor that the 20" wheels from a 306 would fit. I don't know if the hubs, or drums, or wheel interchange? If that that cab goes on a modern chassis, let me know the fate of those wheels. Dammit, quitting is hard!
I painted one of those sturdy pickups in the 70's no pics from that decade was too poor to buy film it was in pretty good condition and I probably got $75 to paint it or less times have changed and I am not sure if it is for the better
The truck we drug out of the barn ended up looking like this by the end of summer. It was running and driving. I ended up selling all four Diamond T's within a year. It was uncharacteristic of me to let go of such neat trucks. I considered it a victory to improve the state of these vehicles and let them go on to be appreciated by others. Since then, my time has been well spent raising a family. After selling the Diamond Ts, I did drag home a Unimog to play with, but I'm proud to say it has been 18 months without even thinking about dragging home another old truck. Now, if I could just get all the other junk around here up and running...
I Really like them Diamonds T! They are be-a-u-ti-full!! There is a Youtube video with a Diamond T with a 4-53T and twin stick shifter that makes my pants fit funny! Sad to hear you sold them, and love your story's, and cars b
Well, good to hear you're happy- I would've had to have kept one of those rigs. Cadillac of Trucks. One of these days I'd like to add one to my stable. There is a really nice blue one on eBay right now. It ended reserve not met last week at a touch over 25k and I'm sure worth every penny. (It's relisted). Posted using the Full Custom twig in the sand App!
Great stories.. I just bought a Diamond T last week. Still waiting for the transport to bring it home...
I'm looking for the seat frames for a 1949 model 201 diamond t. Let me clarify that, I need the seat springs and the back rest Springs for a diamond t 201.
Well, if you'd a kept one, I would have given you, gratis, a "Diamond T Special" motor, 1935, complete with generator, starter, carb, everything, including red paint, clutch and four speed box. All you would of had to do is get it up to your place, from the border down here at 79842.
Revisiting my old post, I have to confess that I have brought home more old trucks. But I'm rationalizing compliance in a couple different ways: 1. One in. One out. I bought this: But I sold this You can see that this was an obvious upgrade. Technically, it's like its the same truck. I just saved myself a lot of work straightening out that OD wreck. 2. It doesn't count if you buy back a truck that you already owned once before...does it? 3. If you buy and then resell-that's almost like the opposite of buying old junk if it nets cash, right? So, I've got one more to sell in order to get back to the inventory I had when I pledged I would drag home no more old trucks.
You can store two motorcycles or a full load of parts in the new Jeep with that cap, and the footprint stays the same. Bob
It's a '64 Kaiser M677. It's based on the Forward Control Jeep pickup introduced by Willys in 1957. Kaiser built about 400 of these for theMarine Corps. It is powered by a 3 cylinder, 2 cycle, supercharged diesel.
