Damn, you know you're getting old when you remember seeing most of these cars run. If I'm not mistaken, I was at Riverside the day this was filmed.

 

Us young'ins only wished we could of lived in your shoes

 

LOL. Before the Riverside raceway there was the Colton drag strip. I lived in Riverside, and was at the raceway for their first race, and many after that.
Gotta go back & watch the tape again. I think one of the dry lake scenes shows my racing partner sitting in his roadster. Need to get a second look to make sure.
They also ran 1/8 mile drags on the back straight at Riverside. Not as exciting as 1/4 mile.

 

That was pretty cool. Great way to start my day.

Yup, the good old days. The days when you could still build a car in your garage without mega-bucks, and still stand a chance of bringing home a trophy every once in a while.

The days when X/R and X/OG were still recognized drag cl***es.
