been working with brewsir for over 2 months to get my 60 caddy shipped out to him.

starts out by the first 2 shipping companys flake out and never call me to set up pick up. he gets a company that will do it. they call me let me know they will be here. They show up when they said. I made sure car was ready to go even took it around the block (this was last friday) they load the car on a flat bed and are off to there yard. guy was good and even put blocks under the rear wheels to not drag the rear bumper.

Today i get a call from brewsir saying that the shipping company cant load the car because of a brake problem with the car. I call and speak to the person at the shipping company and get told they have to get some speed up to load the car on the truck and might not be able to stop. now i wonder how at any speed the front bumper is not going to smash into the ramps and not drag the rear bumper on the ground. car makes more then enough power to drive up any incline in low gear.

the broad on the phone says mabe i could send a tech to look at the car. I tell her i am one and know the shape of the brakes. I ask to speak to who ever said there was a problem and could not load the car. get told they are out to lunc and will get a call back in 30-45 minutes. That was 2 hours ago and still no call.

I shipped a 58 cadillac, no brakes and not running through DAS (Dependable Auto Shippers). I think they jobbed it out to a private transporter though because the guy who brought it had it on a small 3 car trailer. He was able to get it off the trailer fine though.

Yeah, I've dealt with DAS too, I think eBay owns 'em or something. I was actually pretty happy with the whole experience...

finally got a call back 4 hours later and they are saying it does not stop quick enough like a late model car to load it. now im going to have to drive there and look at it to see what can be done. weather it be ajust the brakes so it has some drag and will stop quicker or some thing. worst part is they towed it 45 minutes from where im at and the only time i can go look at it is between 8-5 when i am atr work.

  8. by the time Brewsir gets this car and the h***le and cost of shipping you should have driven it midway to him and switched keys.

I shipped a car from CA to FL and had one shipped from FL to CA....Nothing but a h***le. when they dropped my car off they tore the exhaust off cause the guy just pulled it off full speed.

I had a guy pick up my 1956 Plymouth with an 6 or so car trailor... It was the funniest thing I had ever seen. F*cker had to get a running start up the driveway and gun it to get it up the incline and onto the top. I ***ume that is what they are dealing with. Then the thing has to be locked in place by its own brakes until the guy can climb out and secure it...
Thats my story... Whole thing makes me nervous... But driving across country in a 60 caddy doesnt sound fun either....

I shipped a car through Fed Ex. I'm sure they farmed it out to another company, but the car was picked up and dropped off on time with no problems.

I think the whole industry is a joke. It seems like you use any broker you want because they all post the jobs to the same board and it can be picked up by any driver! I just had 3 cars shipped from SF, CA to Portland, OR. I did research on some site like "auto transport review .com". Even the brokers with the best ratings had plenty of reviews where the customer was furious and the broker would do nothing because "it was the drivers fault". It seems to all boil down to getting lucky with a good driver.

I used intercity lines twice and had good luck with them. I had them pick up a car for me in California that was not running they charged 75 dollars more for that but they have a tail gate that is hydralic and can put any car on running or not or lowered or not. It's inclosed so it cost more but no h***els either. They move a lot of the barrett-jackson cars. Also they had the best rate of the carriers I looked at.

I am the one that told both parties to use Autolog, I have used them myself a few times and had no problems. I have shipped cars pretty much all over the world and have never had a problem outside a lost hubcap and a scratch in the paint of a project car. The hubcaps were on a 66 Mustang I had shipped from Az to NJ, they were hideous fakie Cragars that were getting trashed anyway so I really couldnt have cared less.
