I noticed the photographer was Eric Rickman, in a 1954 Car Craft. I did not realize he'd been writing and photo shooting that far back - only that he had a great career with Hot Rod in the late 50s and 60s.
The proportions of this car are really great but.....I'm with you concerning the front fenders. I think the car would look better with no fenders, but I can at least tolerate the rear ones. It would be cool if this car popped up somewhere as a result of this thread.
interesting that the fenders appear to be bolted to the frame, which explains why they needed the extra spacing. a detail like that was good enough to get into a magazine, or earn a trophy then.......but would probably keep it out of a contention now.....................why?
I agree the proportions and stance are wonderful! Just loose the fenders. Maybe they're there just to satisfy the local authorities
I think that the proportions are right on,but I too would lose the fenders. And,I think that the Round Man name came from the fact that he owned a bar in San Rafael.
It's a dang neat coupe, but I agree he really missed it on those front fenders. The best thing I like about cycle type ones, is how they turn with the wheels; when you mount them right! 439917.jpg by bowie posted Jan 13, 2013 at 8:24 PM
