Thought I would start a new thread in reference to my recently purchased 31' Ford Model A Coupe in hopes some members would know it's past. I recently purchased this coupe that sat in a garage in/around NYC untouched for 49 years. I believe it was raced in the late 60's/70's in Middletown NY, up and down the East Coast. The car is the CLEANEST model A coupe body I have ever seen. Zero bodywork, zero patches, everything is as per Henry. The car has a mid 60's 327, edelbrock crossram with dual carbs, powerglide trans currently; with a 4 speed with it/ansen scatter shield, Olds rear, vertex magneto, late 40's front end with juice brakes, aircraft harness, vintage rollbar, all custom vintage interior and guages, MH Racemaster original slicks, eelco tank, from the looks of the setup the car was running on alcohol. I've tried to do some searching on the internet but haven't been able to come up with much.
Curious as to what the current value of this car would be? I have a steel 32' 5w and another chopped 31' A coupe with a flathead and am having some serious issues deciding which one to let go!

WOW!! I love it. Keep your other cars and sell this one (to me, that is). As I said above, great find. They are still out there. Why can't I find one?

  18. It was running alcohol,it would not be an A/Gas car...different classification if running alcohol...more like A/FC...
    meaning A/.fuel coupe

  22. Well that car aint worth nuthin it aint got no firewall or dash. :D :D

neat old car easy enough to tell if it was burning methanol open the carbs up the insides of the bowls should be eaten pretty bad, it would also have larger then original needle valves and huge jets.

That said gas or alchy it is a neat old car and I would sure enough sell whatever other car would not make the best hauler to get that one.

That is incredible- although the door panels are not what I expected! - a time capsule indeed. I don't envy you for the decisions you'll have to make- Keep it ( yes), clean it (?), race it (?), build a big glass trailer to keep it in and do the Nostalgia circuit? Stare at it for hours on end? Good luck with it!

  28. Great Find! So here's some thoughts....I know,worthless.......... Like everything else- Original state ONCE.
Plans? Once detailing/cleaning,it's gonna loose the 'time frame " factor.......
If it's gonna be yours= Clean/detail/re-furb- But please don't loose that vibe or time frame......
Don;t get to shiny if so...... Mechanical FIRST!
Hope you do it up/preserve it's mean demeanor.....

  29. I bet it would be "fun" at about a hundred!!!!!
