I read a very disturbing article from a Salt Lake City newspaper that says that the salt is in VERY POOR SHAPE. The article said that a guy from SCTA was out there and can't find any place that is good enough to race on. He says that there was a lot of mud washed down from the mountains from all of the rain in the past year and it doesn't look good. Any one have any more info on this. BB
Rich Fox was saying the other day that the crew that works the track went home because the salt was too wet. That is the last I heard on it.
https://www.facebook.com/SCTASouthernCaliforniaTiming***ociation/posts/493766924120428?notif_t=notify_me_page ....SCTA will make some kind of announcement Friday. The ***n. spent a lot of money last year for no return. They can"t keep doing that to long. Right now they are taking a pole to see if entrants will support a short course only meet. I don't want to go for 3 miles. Many do. Above is the address to show support, or not, for a short course meet. If it comes to that. Hope for the best.
Cancelled two years in a row would be a huge bummer. Im just a spectator, coming from over 850 miles away, I wouldn't travel all that way just to see a short course event.
The thing with the salt is it is never really on until you make that first p*** and then it is a **** shoot.
Yeah... What I got out of that though was that they have found useable courses dispite poor salt conditions.....and as long as the weather holds out it's a go .... Unfortunatly we might not be able to see the real fast cars this year
Based on what a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend of one of the well placed tech guys, what thirtytwo says is true. A couple of short courses on the salt is still mobetta than 1.3 miles in the dirt.
