I just came in from striping the firewall of my Hudson. Maybe tomorrow I can get the new engine in it.
Great job...........looks like it stepped out of a '59 high school parking lot!!!!. Man that thing brings back the good times, thanks. CT.
No none out in the sun. The car is all apart right now. Once it is back together I would like to get some good pics. The firewall is bright white with orange pearl to bring out the color of the engine.
As the owner of a 50 Hudson coupe let me say nice car!!! And cool you have a good 308 to use too!! Keep the pics coming....
Cool Hud!! Nothing wrong with using the Hudson engine Plenty of highway power and there's nothing quite like the sound of a 308 with header and dual gl*** packs out the back. That's what I'm running in my '54 Hornet right now.
I've got a Clifford header taht I just got back from the coater, looks like chrome. And dual Smittys. With the 262 it sounded real good, can't wait to hear the 308. The engine is all cammed up,bored, studs in the head, and a 262 head.
Here are some from when I was mocking up the shifter placement. It's pearl white and black. I got all the interior pieces from E-Z boy rod interiors.
It's easy to forget, it's been off the road soooo long. Be back soon. I just put the adapter plate on the engine , and the engine turning looks awesome with the color of the engine. It was my first time doing engine turning and it was pretty easy once you get a pattern.
Got DANG! that is nice! very cool that you're staying with the Connor street motor instead of one of them danged Brand X powerplants. 308/262 head is a good combo; didja do the engine yourself? Looked for a hudson B4 getting the Chrysler - seeing your car makes me wish I'd looked a bit longer...Congrats!
Man that looks REAL nice! I just spent 3 months in Miami doing hurricane restoration work, too bad we never hooked up! Was that a Hudson specific interior kit, or did they just sell you the material and you made the door panels?..
The seat covers were Hudson specific as was the headliner, but I made the door panels. I made them flat and extended the window cranks and door cranks. I did not build the engine. My buddy in Ct built it. He worked for Hudson back in the day. He built it for his '49, but ended up putting a AMC 390 in his.
