    Normally I would suggest road trip too but the op is in Italy. all I can do is bump this thread and maybe tell the op to look up uship.com?

    Maybe a local hamber will see it that needs extra cash and will do it a lot cheaper. 650 seems quite steep for 72 miles, or is it because of it going to a port causing the extra fee? I know when we shipped an off topic truck through the new jersey port a few years ago, we could only work with regular haulers and were not allowed to deliver it ourselves or

    Like he said;

    You will need a company that can get access to the port/shipping area. Not open to the public.

    There is a ton of traffic and delays possible, from New Haven to the City..

    Rodder Billy I just looked up Fedex freight from New Haven to Rome 800# on a pallet.

    Delivery date unavailable FedEx International Economy® Freight 4106.26
    Maybe the $650. is the way to go. Like others said public cannot enter port.

  8. If you have deliverd to the New York or Seattle Ports ...
    That price can be reasonable after all the time you can spend waiting in line.

    Since the OP is in Italy - whoever is acting as his shipping agent is the one who
    should be facilitating transport ...
