Hot Rods Stopped by Roy Brizio's shop today...

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by buickfunnycar.com, Jul 23, 2015.

  1. My shaved sidewall tires showed up at Andy's tire & wheel so a buddy and myself drove to South SF to have them mounted. Andy's was home to the original Champion speed shop so all kinds of cool pictures and history there.

Dave @ Andy's called over to Brizio's to set up a shop tour so we hopped in the car and drove about 10 minutes and on the way,we went past Gotelli's speed shop so you just know there was all kinds of go-fast activity in that area back in the day...if those streets could talk!

Brizio's shop was unreal and these pictures don't do the place justice but they'll have to suffice...enjoy guys!

The gentleman this car was being built for happened to be there and we were chatting all about the modifications...what a piece! It'll be finished in a 2015 Audi grey color with red leather and yes, those are 18" pin drive wheels behind it going on the rears:

Any day at Brizio`s is a good day.

  4. Way cool. That peninsula was a hot bed of rodding in the day. El Camino Ave was a 5 mile long dragstrip up until the late 70's. Then there's the bar (can't think of the name right now) near the cemetery that was a rodder hangout. Great pics. Would love a Brizio built car.

  6. Yeah,we drove by all that and where Andy's is,you can tell all the buildings were based on automotive...Sanderson's headers is like 2 doors down from Roy's!

Brizio's style is to build cars which are timeless in appearance and with drivability a priority.
I can appreciate his understated attention to detail that lets the car speak for itself. He is an outstanding designer and builder IMO.

I'm hoping he means blackwalls shaved of all lettering.

  16. Yes,I had DB tires in TN shave the lettering...it's $50/per side but with all the shipping and freight, they ended up costing $1950 total for the tires...or roughly $500 more than the wheels, lol!

That's funny ! And the best reason I can think of for shaving the tires.

  22. Both sides of the fronts, the outside of the rears completely and the inside smoothed and then dyed black.
I'll try and get some better pictures of it outside today...

Thanks for the photos of Roy's shop. He is the best in the business for my money. Your roadster is right on the money.

Steve Moal's shop is on the other side of the bay in Oakland so we're really kinda spoiled here,lol...
