    I have a 1951 Plymouth Cranbrook.
I know it's easy to find parts for vintage Ford and Chevy but am at a loss when it comes to this Plymouth.
Are there any catalogs or online sources where I can get parts?
    Any and all help appreciated.

No one-stop-shopping for the old Mopars. What are you looking for?

If you are not part of the www.P15-D24.com group then go there now. Lots of good
    help and parts info.

Put an ad in the "wanted" section of the cl***ifieds here ... lots of us have several parts cars we're making available.

All great suggestions. Also try French Lake Auto here in Minnesota for used stuff. Always been good to me. I think they are Alliance members on this site.

what kind of part? engine stuff was used to the mid 60's and later in agricultural, stationary, and military applications. Walter P Chrysler did not authorize reproduction of parts so body parts floor replacements, sheet metal, is scarce in the after market. Gotta look a little but stuff is out there.

Most of the stuff you need to keep it on the road are as close as your nearest NAPA or other good auto parts store. I mean brakes, tuneup, light bulbs, fan belts, oil filters etc.
You want the kind of parts store where old farmers shop, with a couple of old farts behind the counter.

While wiring in the wiper motor, the resistor I'm using to drop 12v to 6v keeps getting to hot. Any suggestions?

Try two of them in parallel.

  15. It's going to get hot; that's a pretty large load. I hope you're using a wire-wound ceramic resistor rated for the load. To reduce the temperature, use the highest watt rating resistor you can find that has the needed ohms rating, 100 watts would be the minimum I'd use. You can use two in parallel, but you'll have to double the ohms if you do this.
