I made it up to the Yakima state fairgrounds in 100 and something degree heat for the 2015 version of the Vintiques Northwest Nationals. I'm not sure which version but this is a long time running event that usually draws several hundred cars for the weekend. Here are some of my favorite HAMB friendly ones and there will be a link to the photobucket page with the rest and the ot stuff at the tail end of the photos. I'm starting out with one of my favorites in the show even though it is way back on one of the back pages. our own Race/Riley Morris had his Rockets Hotrod Garage booth set up inside the Sundome where he was staying cool and having a lot of visitors who came in to cool off. That little flat motor is beautiful. What's not to like about a Crown Vic even though it was pretty well stock. Yea I know the truck stop grill trinkets really detract from the car but the rest of it is pretty nifty. For the Deuce sedan brigade. Effie packs a big inch Cad.
Swap meet area held some interesting stuff, is this that wire wheel I have been hunting? I didn't ask a price as I didn't want to have to lug it to the car Odd ball that I coudn't find in their catalog A whole box of little books Factory tri power intake Need Ford power with a T 5? No reason but I thought this was cool Somehow this gas tank screams Race of Gentlemen loudly but I didn't ask the price The makings of a pretty nice 39 Chevy coupe
It blew this little guys mind that I was walking around taking pictures. This truck parks in the same spot in the fairgrounds every year and when it is moving there is usually a gal with a big grin behind the wheel. Hell yea it was hot out there but they came prepared There are HAMBERS who may have drank too many adult beverages on Saturday night at Vintiques to remeber riding on this fire truck. No .dear, I can't mow the lawn today something happened to the lawn mower Lots of bobber trucks in attendance I'd love to get my hands on this one
Get in, hang on and shut up Shoebox ragtop and a Bird whooo Hoo I must be getting old, normally having a show board in front of your car at an out door "rod run" means that old man Davison isn't going to take a photo of it. AAAH yes,
Cool modified but you will have to hunt it down in the photobucket album. I used to push my nose against the showroom window of the Auburn WA Pontiac dealer in 1962 and drool over one identical to this with stock rims and tires. The long an low of it with aftermarket air Black 61 Ventura, Yea. Did someone say "g***er"?
This one belongs to Jack Crawford Here;s the link to the rest http://smg.photobucket.com/user/Rob-D/library/2015 Vintiques Northwest Nationals?sort=2&page=1 No rusty 60's sationwagons or other rusty stuff for the most part and I probably only took photos of half the rigs there today or maybe a third of them.
Thanks for posting your pics Mr48chev! I woosed out again and didn't make the trip. If I ever see a weather forecast under 95 degrees I might pack up and make the trip to this fun Rod Run. I stayed home and worked on my coupe project in 70 degree air.........
It was so hot I gave out after walking around for about 2 hours. A huge number of participants were inside the Sundome playing bingo just to stay cool and I lost track of the number of those kiddy pools set up for people to keep their feet cool.
Nice pics! I may have to take the drive over to check this out next year. Thanks for taking the time to post them up.
We had a good show despite the heat! We always do! I wish more people would realize how much run this little show is.
Hope you don't mind if I add a few photos. I wasn't able to see everything but there might be some doubles.
