Hi I have a 1950 Chev 2 dr hardtop. I have door window glass, frames + actuators. I think I may be missing a couple of parts and need to know how the window operates in door to identify what i'm missing. I think I am missing a track that the rollers on window frame run on vertically inside the door? Thanks
There should be a track inside the door that the roller runs on.. Or at least that is how the 47-50 truck windows work...
Tri five Hardtops use about a 5 inch guide that the lower regulator arm rides in. It mounts to the door. That allows the regulator to have something to push against to lift the window. You should see two holes about half way down the inner door. One may be slotted. Their horizontal. Looking at the large lower piece on the frame makes you think their might be another guide. GM shop manual will tell you that.
That short arm with roller should run in a short channel that bolts to the inside door frame, try these links although a 49, pretty close. Should give you an idea for hardtop sans convertible http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/fisher/1949/49fbsm142.htm http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/fisher/1949/49fbsm040.htm
